Literally if you’re going to show up and talk with your friend the entire time, just don’t come. Everybody else in class hates you

Oh, it’s that time of year again. Don’t speak unless you’re going to pay my tuition

When a man starts explaining a concept you already told him you understand, instead of saying “I know” over and over until you die, try one of these:

  • Ok, which aspect is confusing you?
  • It seems like you have the basics down; Would you like me to recommend some good articles so you can get a more nuanced understanding?
  • So did you have a specific question, or do you just want a more in depth explanation?

SAVAGE

teacher-zone him

My cousin is an asst psych professor. Her new boss brought up how male students sometimes challenge female professors. He asked how she handles that: she says ‘hold on: let me take notes’, grabs a pen & paper, and proceeds to take no notes. If he asks why, she says ‘Tell me something I don’t know & I’ll have something to write’; no student has tried twice. Her boss laughed and asked her to mention it at the next staff meeting.

Additional tip:

If you need to bring up a topic you think he’ll argue against, ask him if he knows what it is, nod along as he tells you, and then build on the argument he’s just made for you by laying the base.

aka, I had a mansplaining coworker who used to trigger the shit out of my PTSD, so one day I asked him if he knew what “trigger” meant as a psychological term. He proceeded to explain my own panic attacks to me and ended up having a facial Oh Shit when I responded with “Yes, that’s exactly what happens to me when you do X, I’m glad you understand.”

It’s very hard to claim ignorance of the subject when you’ve just been so very proud of showing off your knowledge of that subject.

I’m just gonna leave this here for anyone who needs it C:

Not a single lie in sight……

Hello, college grad that actually wrote an award winning paper on this topic! Here’s some knowledge I’d like to share: There’s actually been studies as to why it’s usually white kids, a large conclusion amongst the criminology community is that those that often have more privileged lives (white kids in our society’s case) are less adept to dealing with stress and denial. Whereas minorities and others are more likely to cope and function normally despite stressors because of the constant stressors that come from systematic racism and/or other platforms of more limited priviledge.

TL;DR: It’s usually a white kid because their privilege incacipated their ability to learn how to handle stress/ denial/ whatever without acting out. The less privileged are done used to the bs and thus typically dont turn to extreme measures as coping mechanisms.

The majority of shooters are white, male, and have a history of violence against women. We cannot ignore gender when discussing this issue.

Jenna Marbles has this series on her channel where she reacts to memes of herself that fans have made and she doesn’t make any money off them she does it to show her appreciation to her fans who make them because she knows they don’t make any money either also there’s someone in Russia that reuploads her videos in full and they dub them over in Russian and not only does Jenna know about this she thinks it’s cool that someone would take the time to do that and she refuses to copyright any of them and she is very wary of making any merch because the last company that she tried to work with straight up stole one of her fan’s artwork and now she doesn’t trust any merch company and I think that’s so awesome who’s like that on YouTube anymore? someone that is aware that the people who watch their videos are the reason they have been successful and who still makes content to entertain those people not just get their money brava

I was watching an episode just the other day where they went to get their new dog, Bunny. And in the car Jenna says like ‘we are not going to record in the foster parents home (where they are picking up Bunny) because it’s not cool/polite to do that’ and I literally had like A Moment, because when does anyone on youtube NOT just do what they want and fuck everybody else?

Jenna Marbles is living proof that we as a species can Do Better
